"Which posters to alt.surfing have you met, surfed, or tripped with, where and when?"

First alt.surfer I met was Graham Harrop, aka Big-G, UK surf forecaster who I bumped into at the Oceanology '97 conference in Brighton. Since then we have surfed together in Cornwall and tripped in Ireland. Shortly after meeting Graham, and before we all went to Ireland, I met Ben, who wasn't an alt.surfer at the time, but posted a few times since then.

Gadget, a North Devon local and regular at some of my favorite breaks in the Bude area started posting regular surf reports while I was working near Blackpool, so next time I was in the area we made a point of meeting up and surfing. We've met quite often since then, especially now that I am back in the South West.

Not long afterwards I met Tim Summers, when we were both in South Wales. Although we've met often since then, including a get together in January 1998 when Bear was over here, we have yet to get a surf in.

The next big thing was meeting Robert Taylor when he and Shana were in Cornwall, September 1998 for their Excellent Adventure during the landfall of two good swells.

In October that year I made a trip to California where I met: Steve Hull, Tauras, surfed with: Gioni Pasquinelli, Jeff, John Airey, Will Borgeson, and tripped with Tim Maddux and again with Robert Taylor.

Shortly after I'd moved to Bristol, Napalm was in the country, so we made a dash to the surf.

Recently Andy MacLennan has moved to town from Edinburgh, and we have made some trips to North Devon for some good surf.
