My First Encounters. Met Sandkrab and his wife near their home in Maryland, 8 months after I moved to MD (in 1999). Had no money and only 1 funboard in the quiver, a difficult period for Weekday! In 2001, Neal Carver had been trying to drum up support for a "bay-side" surf club in central Maryland and I emailed and spoke to him several times before finally getting to surf together a few times in July 2001. From May to July 2001, I emailed and tried to coordinate surf schedules with Rod, but to no avail. In August 2001, I met and surfed with KC, Rod, and Foon, and also met the incorrigible Bruce Gabrielson since we were at his signature spot, 65th street OCMD. The rest is surf commute history. My regular surf partner is....wait....that sounds a little too "don't ask don't tell." Ha! I end up surfing alone quite often but surf a lot with Rod and Neal Carver when my wave snobbery permits it. ;) Surfing with SteveM (Sept 2002). Saw that SteveM was from Va Beach and hit him up for a session while in town in Sept 2002. Surfed the driftiest 2' waves ever crafted by the Atlantic. GuidoPalooza 2002 (Sept 2002). As recipient of the Hound Dog award, I would like to state, "Barrrrrrruuuuuuuuuuuuuuuu!!!!!!", and I now anoint myself, Legend of Beagles. Good to meet all of you, hope to surf with you real soon, at a time when you can see that I can actually competently surf!!! See the GP stories at the GP2K2 Stories and Pics page.
