A couple of different paipo boards have been showing up from Grover Beach, California (Central Calif coast), shaped by Pat Flecky. The bonzer is pictured below (also shown on another thread) - a pintail/round tail was posted in this thread:
http://www.rodndtube.com/paipo/forum/viewtopic.php?p=4473

4'4" Paipo with Bonzer bottom. Bonzer 6inch True Ames fin with glassed in side biters.

I have asked the former owner of this board a few follow-up questions about this Bonzer design (not sure if he is the same guy who owned the Pat Flecky paipo - different names or aliases - follow-up, it is the same person).

I am wavering between a concave vs. belly in the forward section and the degree of "V" in the center fin area. At this time wings are not contemplated. Also expect to have this board built using EPS/epoxy and three stringers for weight distribution. Undecided about a 3-fin or quad set-up, but am leaning towards the 3-fin because traveling with many fins adds tons of weight. Very small nose rocker (1 to 2 inches).

Rod,

Did you ever find out more about Flecky and his paipo connection.

Why don't you ask Robert Moynier - he knows the Campbells well.

regards

Bob
