What's the best way to make the edges and nose on a board recede like this photo:

Is that just done with sanding or do you need to plane that edge? I have an orbital sander.

Hey there CC, I did that board with a sander/polisher. Its bigger than an orbital, and spins in the one direction only. I use 60 or 80 grit sanding discs, and then finish it with 120. The large disc makes it easy to keep the inside contour nice and even. You could probably do it with an orbital, but it would probably take days!

Thanks Kid - can you post a pict or a link to your sander/polisher? I'd like to see it if possible. I'm only working with 1/2" marine and wouldn't need such an edge like you have on that board. I always thought that was how marine ply fins were made - with sanding.
