Here is another ply paipo with a hoop fin. I got the stright scoop on hoops from surffoils the fin is made of alder 1/8" thick and 2 1/2 " wide and 4" high . I soaked the wood in hot water for about 1 hour and bent it around a 5 gal bucket held in place with a 2" strap for 2 days. then set the fin in 1/4" slots cut in the board with epoxi. The board is 14" at the nose, 10" at the tail and 48" long Cool

It won't let me post for some reason but that is the proper fin on a paipo.

That's how I roll. Smile Actually it's a fin from my 9'8" Weber Performer (longboard). I rarely use it because it's a bit too stiff even on that board. I posted that on Facebook last year just for the LOLs. It won't even seat in the fin box. I put a 9' cutaway on there that fit, I thought about padding that out but if I got anywhere near the bottom it would rip the board apart and I love Red90.
