This is a C&P from the 'er forum but it may be of interest to some here.
It's a neat event
ANYTHING BUT 3
What: The Anything But Three is a celebration of alternative surfboards. Anything but your standard clear 6'2" squashtail thrusters.

When: Sunday, May 23rd

Where: North Jetty at Oceanside Harbor, Oceanside California in San Diego's north county (see map at bottom of post)

There will be lots of boards on hand to demo so bring your wetsuit, towel and sunblock. There will also be free food (first come first serve). Coffee and snacks in the morning then burgers and dogs around midday. There'll be a couple of grills going so you are welcome to bring your own to throw on the grill but you'll most likely have to cook it yourself.

There will be 5 catorgories and an award given to the winner of each respective catorgory.

All winners will also receive a free blank from Surfblanks America . A set of Bamboo fins from 101 Fin Co (glass-on or Lokbox). A set of Lokbox fins (your choice) and appropriate number of boxes. An AB3 T-shirt. And a gift certificate for the new Surfy Surfy Surf Shop in Leucadia.

The catorgories are:

Best in show): The best overall shape and glass work combo. The winner gets 1/2 off a booth at the October Sacred Craft Surfboard Expo in Del Mar ($300 value). Radical!
Best backyard board: Pretty self explanatory. If you are a licensed surfboard maker/company you are not eligible for this catorgory

Most futuristic: Most creative design with intent to push the limits of wave riding

Best artwork: Best resin work, pinlines, paint/airbrush, etc.

Biggest cockroach: You'll know it when you see it

As we start to get commitments from shapers planning on attending I will list them here on this thread.

So tell your shaper! Tell your friends! It's a one of a kind event. A hotrod show on the beach! Only you get to drive the hotrods!

*You can still bring your thrusters, we won't boot ya. But if you want to compete in any of the 5 catorgories it has to be.."anything but three". Twins with trailers, widowmakers etc. please check in at the main tent to see if your board is eligible.
