Makes a lot of sense because really, that way you are turning the narrower front of the board and using leading edge for hold and the tail just follows. That instead of trying to drive off rearward edge. A bit like front foot vs back foot stand up surfing???????????

The pics are deceptive, both of these boards have nearly 3 inches of hull-type nose rocker. I rode both with my head and even shoulders over the nose and didn't pearl once! These things seem almost pearl-proof! I think the turning was probably made more difficult by the small waves. Although I got moving quite fast, the faces were small and actually deceptively steep, so down the line trim speed was the order of the day. I'll hopefully get time to ride them in some bigger and cleaner waves next week! I'll post ride reports as they come!
