It's that time again....for the end of the year meeting of the Longboard Collector Club at Doheny State Beach. 7 AM to noon. Boards of all sizes and eras. Paper collectibles, too. Raffle prizes and food.

The International Surfboard Builders Hall of Fame awards will be presented by Mike “Mickey Rat” Ester and Bob “the Greek” Bolen at 10:00 A.M.

The inductees are Ben Aipa, Phil Edwards, Tom Morey, Mike Eaton and Woody Brown. It has been a club tradition to bring boards manufactured with these logos and display them. Mickey and Bob really do a great job with this and spend a lot of time and money to make it happen.

In 2009 I'll be organizing the Dextra Bellyboard Team, but you must have your own Dextra to be a team rider. If you come to Doheny next Saturday, then you might find a Dextra to buy. But don't think it's just a buy/sell/trade event. There are some interesting show and tell boards that aren't for sale.
