Hi everyone
Wanted to say hi to the crew here.
I'm primarily a kneeboarder from Byron Bay but after regularly seeing local George Greenough heading out on his mat up here at Wategoes have got interested in 'alternative' prone surfing. That is, mats, paipo and alaia.
I've got a Wegener alaia on the way for prone use and would also love to get my hands on an HPD but shipping is prohibitive, so am on the lookout for a paipo here in Australia.
Anyone know any paipo shapers in/around Byron Bay?
I look forward to joining in this wonderful forum.

Hello Richard,
Last 2 years the family and I have had a couple of weeks holiday in Byron in early February. We are booked again for 2009.
If you are around and wanted to try some paipo I have a HPD. an alaia, 2 no fin wave riders made by John Galera as well as an assortment of other craft, including a mat which I am learning to ride.
Last year I had some good waves in Byron, but usually drive to Lennox.
Let me know if you wanted to catch up - send a private message and I can give you my e-mail address.
Freight from Hawaii is not cheap but at least the exchange rate is ok at present, to purchase. I have used DHL to ship boards via a freight agent.

Hello Richard!
Welcome!
Brett (who posts as SURFFOILS on this forum and on the Swaylocks forum) builds great paipo's! I'm not sure where in Oz he lives, but you might try contacting him. Í think he made Bob a board as well?
greetings,

Eef,
Haven't heard from Brett for a while - not sure if it is just computer problems or something more serious. The paipo was almost done.
He's in Sydney - only about 760 kms south of Byron.
