This is an annual event that takes place on the 2nd Wednesday of August. Mostly surfers with VW buses. Pot luck. Informal contest. I'm looking for people in Southern California to form a paipo team for the event. If you don't have a VW, then you have to make a VW paipo or bellyboard.

This will be hard to resist. My two favorite things. My 67 crew cab & a paipo. Have to convince the wife. I am assuming that I will be invited even though I am from Nothern California. If not there may be a Norcal team. Is there camping?

I haven't been to this gig before. I was invited by some folks at Bellyfest. Pretty informal and laid back as far as I can tell. It's in the day use area, and I'm not sure if there are any available campsites for overnight at that or any of the nearby State beaches. Maybe???

I googled around and found a few sites with photos from previous Big Wednesdays. Here's one from last year:
