Mike Jipp, owner of the Lincoln City Surf Shop here in Oregon, has a collection of old boards including both paipos and belly boards. Note the old-fashioned distinction in nomenclature between them:

I'm curious about the decal on the paipos. Does it say surfboards or paipos?

The two green decals spell out Pai Po at the top. I saw him at the Crescent City after-the-show premiere party for Riding Giants last year but I didn't know at the time that his shop once built the finless "guitar pick" boards or I would have asked him about them.

Those bellyboards look like beeing made with the front part of a broken longboard.
