For the past week it has been stormy and blown-out around here with stiff onshore winds. Yesterday it started to clear and there was still plenty of swell left over from the storm.
This morning wasn't as big but there were still some nice crisp lines and the wind was positively howlin' offshore!
There was a guy in the lineup with an interesting board. About the size of a paipo (short), it had a round nose and what looked to be a white "Surlyn" bottom like a bodyboard only it had fins too. Anyway, he was drop kneeing it pretty well. Here are a few pics of him dropping in and setting up a run down the line:

Thanks for that report, PaipoJim. Thats looks awesome. Was that thing possibly a turbo bodyboard or something?
Looks like a regular paipo would've been really fun on those waves!
Down here in central Florida it's as flat as can be right now. I need a rest, though, 'cos on Thanksgiving morning I was paipo-ing small waves and hurt my back going over the falls onto a shallow bottom. I went straight down butt-first like a piledriver into the bottom. At first, I thought I may have actually broken my back, but after a few moments I found I could get up, though the pain was excruciating! I'm still in a little pain from time to time, and I'm waiting for surf.
After something like that happens, riding seems a lot more scary than before. But after 40 years of surfing, that's the first time anything like that happened to me. Sure, I've hit bottom many times, but not like that!
You must really love riding around those cliffs. I can hardly imagine it down here in "Baja Georgia." |

Looks like a ripper! More like riding the rip out to the line-up. Those were some sweet waves _________________ rodNDtube
