Another interesting concept...although I got an instant "broken nose" idiot light on my very personal internal dashboard. Sometihng about handles to grip must appeal to my many-thumbed tool user mind.

Ah, but how many pieces of surf gear can you take to the beach and then take bowling? Think Big Lebowski goes surfing.....

Somebody actually hosts "Big Lebowski" tours out here in Southern California. One of the most cosmic movies, right up there with "PowWow Highway" and "Rancho Deluxe"...

I've bodysurfed with kelp balls before. Snap off the antlers, but leave the neck on it. Kind of slimy. Doesn't generate much lift, but it does clear out some of the finless bodysurfers that clog up the inside.

I can see it now - "Yes, Folks, this is where The Dude Abides".

You wouldn't see 'em doing that with Being There......

Shocked

Ahem. I'll try to ignore the comment about surfing with kelp balls...and this is a tough one to ignore. On a more scientific note I'm assuming the kelp around L.J. has really large air bladders? Not so much that way up in Ventura and SB. I know munching on some kelp while out surfing used to scare away some of the nervous people, but I suppose now they'd just get a lawyer and sue me.

While at the tire shop the other day I spent about 15 minutes looking at a 1947 or 1949 National Geographic which had an article on California with pag after page about "goggleing"...i.e. skin diving. Much about the "Bottom Scratchers" of L.J. , many photos, lots of Churchill's, spearfishing. Photos of abalone 12"-14", looked like another world. Guess it was.
