I've been away much of the past 3 weeks, well, 4 weeks actually. This last week has been back in hometown and working and trying to readjust from the 3-week trip to the Seattle/Bainbridge Island to N. Oregon to Seattle/Bainbridge Island to Honolulu/North Shore to San Diego by US Navy warship and back home again trip. Whew! Had some fun splashing in the surf around Seaside one weekend and on the N. Shore the following weekend. Now if I can only find my pics from The Point/Seaside.

My paipo suffered some nose and tail damage from the getout "process" hopping along and slamming amongst the boulders at 2nd Point, the bottom shows its share of scrapes and bruises, and my center fin's last inch was smashed, or pulverized Smile The surf was awesome. Thankfully, my relatively carbon copy board is ready next weekend (shapers always seem to want to make a few changes on their own).

Next time you're ferry hopping in the region, check out their wakes. With the right tide and location, they emit fun, waist high peelers. Interesting photo opportunities with Seattle in the background.

Hey Seamus! Just spent a week at Bach., riding that Nitro Diablo you traded me a kneeboard for, bout eight years ago. Got a Romo I can let go, you interested? Sounds like Seaside was gentle on the Rod!

Mr. Elusive Phantom,

Great week to pull out the old 186!! As a new papa, I've had little mountain time this year. Picked up some shaped tele skis last Fall, but they haven't seen snow yet...bummer. Also, a few dreams of Spring corduroy and plates. Next year!

Email me the details on the Romo. I would hate for there to be a gap in the Phantom Hand-Me-Down collection.

Have taken advantage of the recent high pressure and got the plywood wet a couple of times. Even rode Brown's Point, Tacoma on the Scrambler...southbound container ship, waste high wave. Wish I had a shipping schedule.

Had you not mentioned your Scambler escapades this morning, I would have sold mine to Eddie Vedder today.he was in the shop over the weekend, looking for a couple...I have a paddle out shot of your gray Seaside Point board, that should always stay with it. Try the Port Athority for shipping times.Mention that you are planning to do some crossings by kayak.Congrats on becoming a pop! Yes, Romo should continue the lineage. It`s forefathers would be proud.

Here's the belated N. Oregon trip report with some pics:

Needless to say it was great Smile

I am back in the area mid-June for a short pleasure/family obligation trip -- there should be some waves but it is off season by then.
