I have painted and added 3 coats of spar urethane from a spray can on my 1st board. The directions said it was ok to add coats with out sanding if done with in 1.5 hrs. I'm done its dry buy the finish is a bit rough. Will the rough finish affect the pereformance? I was expecting a very smooth surface. By the way. It was drying. DoI need to sand it?what grit would I use and will it kill. The gloss? |

Go ahead and sand it, but with a very, very fine grit. When I finished my guitars, I used 2,000 grit between coats of paint and clear coat, then polished it all off with jeweler's rouge on a buffing wheel. |
