Well, yes and no. The patent also specifies three ( or more) fins, in what could be called a 'conventional thruster' configuration. Further, if John wanted to, he could maybe do something about this patent, as he'd been making his boards for 20 years by the time this patent application came along.
Horrible patent, by the way. From the description given, I can think of a number of ways to beat it or call it infringement on others such as this product: http://www.wetsand.com/store/product.asp?ProdId=703&CatId=219 which has been made since at least the early '90s. Nor can I figure out if this 'bull board' is something other than solid fiberglass. Does the thing float?? |
