Excuse me if my pidgin is a little rusty, but I named it "Fas Kine" because I made it in a hurry so I could take it on a backpack camping trip (in case there were waves - which there weren't).
It's an old poplar shelf from an architectural salvage shop. I cut it in half, used a piece of mahogany veneer for the stringer when gluing the pieces up, then put a piece of 1/4 inch luan ply across the top for strength.
I used epoxy for the glue-ups and for the finish. I wanted a good durable watertight seal, since I think the materials would come right apart if water gets into them.
It's about 15" wide 20" long and 7/8" thick.
I might get to try it out today.
