here is the another board I made out of the tulip poplar and some lacewood it is your stander pick board about 14" round at the nose and 26" at the tail and 40" long MRMIKE Cool

kid I use a body grinder with a 4' cone shaped pad with 80 grit for the nose. if you bring it all the way around down the rails you will have problem spliting on the rails when the boards flexes. you need to use ply like your other board the ply won't split MIKE Cool

Yeah, we kinda figured that might be the case. I'm gonna rip that nose block off and replace it with ply! This board was a sunday afternoon project using scraps we had lying around, but I like the shape so much I want to do it properly now!
