Hi All -

A friend hot wired a SUP blank from a big rectangular block of EPS foam. I retrieved the deck offcut from his dumpster, flipped it over, glued in a partial stringer for a bit of nose rocker and shaped this thing.

I will try and add a few pics. It was a fun project and it seems to work OK so far. The hoop fin always gets some attention but I haven't noticed much difference when riding with FCS CRV fins in place of the hoop.

Oh well... attracting attention and disturbing people is half the fun.

EDIT: I reckon you have to cut/paste to view pics?

Who knew there would be something useful about SUPs. Hehe.
Nice looking board, what are the dimensions?

Never knew you could have so much fun with a hoopty-doo fin on a board!

I am curious as well - what are the board's dimensions? Are all the pics of the same board (in-process)?

Sorry for delayed response...

Yes - those are all the same board in photos.

Dimensions:

L = 5'10" X W = 24" X N = 19 1/2" X T = 22 1/4".
Across the aft end = 19"

The next version might have a bit more outline and rocker curves. The super wide tail catches waves very easily and the flat rocker/parallel outline make for a fast ride.
