Never heard of it. Interesting looking, although that tail reminds me of the future tv show from the movie Idiocracy called "Ow, My Balls"...

I have to agree that the tails on those boards look absolutely spooky.

It’s obvious that the “inventor” is pretty high on what he’s come up with, and you can’t blame him, they’re cool enough. But to claim that “Nothing similar is or was on the market.” is kind of a stretch. I’ve seen that basic theme re-visited many time over the years.

I think he really meant "on the market", which strikes me as pretty true when dealing with commercially available products. I can see echos of other boards which people around this forum have either made or shared knowledge of, and a number of us have pretty long-term exposure to surfing.

The tail, while radical for the marketplace, actually wouldn't put me off given the waves I tend to ride. It would be fun to see some video.

You’re right, when you look at it from a “commercial product” standpoint, his statement isn’t such a stretch after all.

I’d like to see some video of those boards in action, myself. The rider pictured on his site looks to be having a blast. It would be nice to see how the boards handle.

I made a board a number of years ago from a recycled windsurfer that had a very similar tail shape. It was a very fun board to ride, but I took a real beating from that tail. Maybe it was my riding style, the wave conditions or a combination of the two but I think I still have bruises from that thing.
