MTbarrels makes kneeboard spoons that he rides all winter (Terry usually rides a bodyboard during the summer months in San Diego). Same person that made the paipo hydrofoil. You can try contacting him by PM or e-mail via the forum to see if he'd be interested.

Austin Saunders might be a longshot - I don't think he has ever made anything like a spoon before but might be willing to give it a shot if enough enough design specifics were available. Spoons are not easy to make.

That looks very interesting. Can you give dimensions? Also are you going for the full on no foam tail type spoon or more of a spooney shape with foam?

It is interesting to see if you will have to remove all the foam on the tail to get the right amount of flex.

Foam between some layers of fibreglass and resin might be lighter but more rigid than just glass.

Do you want some kind of foam kneeboard or a real greenough-esque flexspoon ?

Tim,

I'm not a big blog reader but I did read the story of your custom order that became usurped. In the world of surfboard design it can be difficult to know what is ethical and what isn't in relation to the copying of a design, however, from your account the very least that could be said is that the way your feedback was handled seemed pretty rude, with the price tag the added insult.

I don't know whether to hop the board goes well or not. It certainly looks an interesting design and well made. I can see why it is called the 'scab' now.

Unless I am losing my mind, I thought I read it at: http://facefirstandoverhead.blogspot.com/

Today no text is visible to the right of the photos.

Tim,

Sometimes writing stuff out gets it off your chest. The danger of the internet is the power to transmit it worldwide in seconds. I have no idea of how justified you were in blogging it, but either way you've changed your mind.

If nothing else there are some paipo allegedly being sent to Japan and who knows, dropping into a pit somewhere as I type.
