I still have a couple of steps until it's finished. I used some water based dye and I still have to seal it. it's 48" high x 24" wide

MW,
If it were possible, I'd be interested in a profile shot. Alternatively, how thick is the board and how much nose lift does it have?
I have ridden alaia but not ply paipo - I would imagine this is even less bouyant. I have heard of cork and foam being applied to the decks - ever tried this?
Any comments are welcomed,
Bob |

I made this out of 3/4" ply... on the heavy side for sure! If this size and shape works out, I'm going to build another one with some nose rocker out of laminated Luan ply. I'll post some profile pics in the next couple of days. _________________ So now faith, hope, and love abide, these three; but the greatest of these is love. |

EAR TO EAR !!! I took this thing out today and an amazing time. I was amazed at how well this kind of shape works. With the wide bottom you really don't need a fin. And, without a fin you can flatten out the board and slide the tail if you want. I was a little affraid the lack a rocker would get me but, I really like the speed. I also thought that the lack of flex would make bottom turns impossible but, once again I was wrong. This kind of shape turns great. _________________ So now faith, hope, and love abide, these three; but the greatest of these is love. |

I can't wait to see pictures your battleship when you're done! The only word of caution I have is, don't let it hit you in the head (it hurts a lot!). _________________ So now faith, hope, and love abide, these three; but the greatest of these is love. |
