David Richards & Tod Brown are hosting my page with the
wedge pictures of me at the wedge on my tri-fin paipo
board. The date is 1963. Do you think anyone else was using
paipos in calilfornia at that time. I saw the great film on
Wiamia and it showed a paipo boarder skipping down a huge
face like a stone. That was in 62.
I tried to make the same kind of thing.
I use to be out at Huntington and be the only one outside that
wasn't using an inflatable HB Raft,,,,,,, It was great for me till the
morey boogies came out years later........
I still paipo at Cannon Beach and at Westport, cold but it is a big
right that breaks alot like mailbu. The only trouble is when the
great whites start leaving the area because the
killer whales are beginning to arrive....
How many miss those great strips at Huntington Pier, ahhhhhhhhh
,,,,,,,,, reminissing,,,,,,,,
stay wet and wild, don't get older, just wiser, and try to date within
your species, teeee heeeee

RodnTube Legends Page under the Wedge
section. I may have been the first to Paipo the
wedge in 1962 with my 3 fin hardwood board.
See photo, wish we were all at the beach
right now,,,,, mike |

Mack Daddy, I aint buying it.Been surfing here in Washington since 63`, and never heard anyone even faintly compare either of those breaks to Malibu. So loose the hype. |

I trust that one of more of the PNW paipo natives might recognize this view:
or this one:
I rode waves at the first one back in early November, only knocked back a few beers talking to some people at the second location. Plan to be back for some more sometime in mid to late March. _________________ rodNDtube
