John Mel of Santa Cruz has done well for a couple of us, Paipo Jim and myself included. He is prompt, converses with you on what you want or need, and communicates accurately on his schedule. Did a damn nice job on my Chillito (Red Snapper) fish paipo.

Crossed my mind right now that I communicated with a fellow in Oxnard who had a or a series of Bonzer bellyboards made by Malcom Campbell. That was in the waning days of maintaining a website, so I don't think I still have his info. Mark? Can't even remember the name. If you are (or he is) on the forum hopefully chime in.

Skip down to the bottom of the page for my Baja report from 2003. A guy, whose name I can't remember, showed up at the camp a couple of plots down and he turns out to have 3 paipos made by a shaper by the name of Blair. This guy Blair is mostly a regular board shaper but had shaped a number of paipos for the Baja riding fellow. The boards mostly shared a common template and featured board length concaves.

Go to the bottom of the page (upper sections feature Terry on his hydrofoil paipo, a bodyboarding friend and myself).

I believe Blair was based out of N. San Diego or Orange counties.
