This is my first alaia my biggest board I have made to date 5'7" x18" at the nose and 6'" at the tail

Mrmike, that's simply gorgeous. Come on now, spill the beans. That
chequered nose is a segment of a marquetry fruit bowl isn't it? If not it's a beautiful piece of work. The nose looks scooped up. Am I right?

when I built this board I wanted a spoon shape. so when I layed up the wood I put a small angle (about 5 degres) on the pieces so when it is glued up it takes this shape. the chequered on the noes and tail was taught to me by my high school wood shop teacher I think he would haved like it _________________ PAIPO ON
