i'm working on a new board, alaia style. It measures about 4 x 1 ft. and is dead flat.
I have to put the final layers of coating on, then it's ready for it's maiden voyage

How thick is it? Did you sand/grind an angle on the nose or anything? I've passed on the chance to pick up 1"thick x 12"wide pine a few times...now I wonder what I've missed.
One thing is the three birch ply handboards sitting on my dining room table waiting for paint and clear coating. Lazy me.

Hi Nels,
it's 9 mm thick, that's less than a half inch. Thicker boards get a bit heavy and that gets scary in the washing machine.
The nose is flat, no rocker at all. I'll see how that feels, maybe bent it a little later on.
Normally i'm pretty lazy myself (this piece of wood has been standing in the corner of my shed for MONTHS) but i'm trying to watch less telly now and doing more stuff like this _________________ Increasing succes by lowering expectations

tested the board yesterday in 4 foot windswell, and i'm pretty happy how it went: pretty fast, turns well and goes across the wave rather nicely
here are a few pictures of the finished board (with the layers of coating on it):
