my boards are 9mm out of decent grade marine ply, 48 x 12 tapering to 11. the flex is lovely. but then 9mm in birch ply is way stiffer and a load heavier.

just to further make the point how simple it can be, i've just come back from the beach with my kids and my 8yr old took out a board he made himself from a bit of scrap 9mm exterior ply that was left ...

betjeman holidayed at trebetherick which is just above daymar bay. daymar is a bit sheltered (you can google earth it) and polzeath, just above, more exposed so its highly likely thats the beach.

whoever it was that made them, looking at the boards stacked up in some of the shots, it was a decent order to get! ; )

might have been the guys in france possibly, hidden wood? here in the UK ours ...
